Every month, something powerful happens in the WENOSA community. Women step into a room not just to compete, but to connect. They arrive with stories, courage, and dreams that deserve to be heard.
Our Pitching Rounds aren’t just about business plans and presentations; they’re about people. They’re spaces where women share not only what they do, but why they do it: for their families, for their communities, and for the generations watching them lead.
Because when a woman pitches, she’s not only asking for funding. She’s declaring her future.
Through the Women in Business (WIB) Programme, WENOSA creates a pathway for women to grow, lead, and thrive.
What makes these rounds special isn’t just the structure; it’s the stories behind them.
Each founder who takes the stage brings a story of perseverance, the late nights, the small wins, the moments she almost gave up, and the vision that pulled her through.
These are women who’ve built businesses from scratch with heart, hustle, and hope.
They’re not waiting for permission; they’re creating their own opportunities.
Through each round, they gain access to mentorship, funding opportunities, and valuable exposure to investors and industry leaders.
Every woman who enters a Pitching Round does so because she believes her idea can make life better not just for herself, but for others.
They’re building jobs in their communities, solutions for challenges women face every day, and spaces where equality isn’t just spoken about, but lived.
Many of these businesses address urgent social and economic needs, like the founder who secured support to expand her catering business, creating employment for local women and offering affordable, home-cooked meals to nearby schools and small businesses.
They’ve registered their businesses, gathered their teams, and chosen to step forward, even when it’s hard, even when they’re scared, because they know representation matters.
These women aren’t just participants. They’re pioneers.
Something shifts when women come together like this. There’s a shared energy in the room that says: I see you. I hear you. I believe in you.
That’s what makes these Pitching Rounds unforgettable. It’s not only the applause or the prizes; it’s the moments between, the encouraging nods, the shared laughter, the quiet tears of recognition.
Here, competition transforms into collaboration. One woman’s courage gives another woman permission to rise.
When a woman leaves the room after pitching her business, success isn’t just a “yes” from a judge. It’s the knowledge that she was seen and supported. It’s a new partnership formed, a mentor gained, a door opened.
Our judges and mentors don’t just score. They listen, they guide, and they invest, leading to mentorship placements, strategic partnerships, and grant opportunities for our top founders.
This is how empowerment becomes action through resources, relationships, and real results.
That’s what empowerment looks like: women walking taller, more confident, more connected.
